Brian Smith

Brian Smith started his drumming career in Spokane, WA playing with his Dad’s folk and rock band and touring as a professional Scottish Pipe drummer. After graduating High School Brian Smith attended the Lionel Hampton School of Music as both a Music Education and Percussion Performance major. While attending school Brian was given the opportunity to play with many well known jazz and classical artists including trombonist Bill Waltrus, Trumpeter Claudio Roditi and Frank Sinatra’s piano player and music director Vincent Falcone. Brian also performed in many collegiate theater pieces performed by the school’s dance department. He was awarded the Lionel Hampton Jazz Scholar award and graduated in 2005 with both degrees.
Since graduating Brian relocated to begin his professional Nashville career. In the first year he recorded drums and percussion for artists such as Dixie Twister and Anthony “Ziggy” Johnson. Brian joined the Adam Craig Band in 2006.
